It was the year 1950, when our company Radio Voice made its entry in the world of entertainment. It was inaugurated by Mr. Biswanath Das. It began with sound and radio. In the beginning it used to repair HMV record players and used to repair all types of electronic goods.
Gradually we started T.V. repairing and later we tried to improve the sound quality for public address system. Sound is an integral part of music. Good sound makes music more attractive to people. Many technical complications are related with sound. Whenever the good singers, first they go for the sound checking and then only they decide whether to sing or not. So it always remain an offscreen matter for the public to realise our difficulties in this field. In the beginning when we were facing a lot of obstacles in establising our company, no one came to help us.
It was only our effort which enabled us to improve our sound and Public Address Systems. We tried to go to various artists and companies with the hope that they will at least will encourage us a bit and help us in our efforts. But all of our efforts were shattered as we didn’t get any kind of help. The god smiled at us and fortunately we came in touch with the ghazal singer O.M.P. Vinda, who helped us a lot to translate our dreams into reality. It worked as an inspiration which helped us to give our entire dedication. We arranged some bank loans, although it seemed quite insufficient according to our needs. Then Mr. Abdur Rahman of Kalamandir helped us in the technical sphere and also gave his precious time in every event.
After this much struggle, there came the golden time for the company when Abhijeet Das only son of Mr. B. Das came to join the family business in 1997. He introduced Public Address Systems, lights, stage performance light with colour effects. It added an entire colour to the company’s reputation and today with the help of employers, we can entertain a huge number of audience.
At present we have been operating not only in Kolkata , but in other districts of West Bengal, in other states like Bihar, Assam, Jharkhand, Orissa etc. The renowned colleges and universities of Kolkata like Jadavpur University, IIT(Kharagpur), BIT, XLRI(Jamshedpur), Presidency College, St. Xaviers’ College, B.E. College(Shibpur), IIM(Joka), Marine Engg. College(Taratola) etc. Whenever they arrange any programme today their first choice has become ‘Radiovoice’ and we also feel very proud when we see the wall of our popularity.
We have also performed with the Indian legends like Lata Mangeshkar , Asha Bhosle , Amit Kumar , KumarSanu , Udit Narayana , Shaan , Sonu Nigam , K.K. , Alka Yagnik etc. So each is the story of our company, called ‘Radio Voice‘ . Today it has gained so much popularity that we can see its wall but we cannot scale it. And till now we are trying a lot to improve our sound system and quality which will give entertainment to more people than now.
